Hi, My family of 6 is very excited for our upcoming Disneyland trip. We're excite to be able to attend Disneyland on it's Birthday/Anniversary July 17th. I was curious if the park has anything special planned?

    Hi there, Shanda!

That’s supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I’m so excited for your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort! My own family of six visited Disneyland Park on July 17th last year. It was so fun to be there on that day to commemorate the park’s 63rd birthday!

The big decade milestones, such as the 60th anniversary, are usually anticipated and advertised more. On other years, the Disneyland Resort typically holds smaller celebrations on July 17th. These celebrations vary from year to year. Upon arriving at Disneyland Park, I recommend asking a Cast Member for details about what you might expect that day.

To give you a hint of the type of event you might expect, I’ll share with you what we experienced last year. When we entered Disneyland Park, we started our day by hopping on the Omnibus for a trip down Main Street, U.S.A. As we cruised along, we saw several Cast Members holding signs to announce Disneyland Park’s 63rd birthday that day. While we waved and cheered, we saw several guests stopping to take photos with the Cast Members and their signs. In the afternoon, the Disneyland Ambassadors, Dapper Dans, and others rode in that same Omnibus accompanied by a cavalcade of 63 Disney characters along the parade route. They stopped at various locations to sing “Happy Birthday” with the guests lining the parade route. It was such a cute and emotional tribute to Walt Disney and the Happiest Place on Earth.

I hope you have a magical time celebrating Disneyland’s 64th birthday this year. Disneyland Resort is really a wonderful place to
celebrate special occasions! If you have any more questions as you get ready for your visit, please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again.

    See ya real soon, Shanda!
