My family is so excited to sail on the Destiny soon! Will the new Mickey & Minnie Cove Family Cabanas on Castaway Cay be the main feature of the area? Aside from the beautiful beach, will there be other activities/spaces nearby for families to enjoy?

    Ahoy, Spontaneous!

Welcome back to planDisney! A cruise on the all-new Destiny is definitely something to cheer about—it’s like when Simba first stepped onto Pride Rock, full of promise and adventure. Between the ship’s dazzling new spaces and those delightfully wicked villains waiting to make mischief onboard, you and your family are in for an unforgettable voyage.

The new Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabanas aren’t quite operational yet, which means a bit of mystery still surrounds this new corner of Castaway Cay. We do know they’ll be located near Serenity Bay, but Disney hasn’t shared yet whether additional family amenities will be built alongside them. Since Serenity Bay BBQ is an adults-only dining spot and these cabanas will welcome families, I would expect a dedicated food pavilion for cabana Guests so everyone can relax and refuel without wandering too far. Think of it as a page still being written in your adventure storybook—much like when Moana pushed past the reef and discovered new horizons.

The perks of booking a cabana, however, are already enough to make any Guest feel like they’ve discovered treasure hidden by Scrooge McDuck himself. You’ll enjoy snorkeling gear, floats and tubes, sand toys, and even one hour of bike rentals per Guest—all included with your cabana. Plus, with the Serenity Bay tram stop right at your fingertips, you’ll have quick and easy access back to the family side of the island if your crew wants to soar down Pelican Plunge or browse through the shops for souvenirs worthy of Captain Jack Sparrow’s collection.

Since the cabanas are slated to open at the beginning of December and you’ll be sailing in mid-January, you should arrive just in time to enjoy this brand-new experience once any opening hiccups are smoothed out. That’s the beauty of sailing Disney—you can trust they’ll make sure every detail feels magical by the time you arrive.

I hope this helps you picture all the magic waiting for you ashore at Castaway Cay and gets you even more excited for your upcoming adventure. It sounds like your voyage will be filled with new discoveries, relaxing escapes, and plenty of stories worth retelling—like opening your own family fairytale.

Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
    Dustin
