I have a family of 12 and would like to take everyone for my 50th birthday over Christmas. There are so many directions to get rates and pricing. What is my best resource to plan a trip to Disney for a group this size?

Hi Sherry! What a wonderful birthday trip this would be for yourself and for your family. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year in the parks too with all the special events and decorations.

The first thing you will want to do is to make your My Disney Experience account for everyone so you can all be linked with every reservation you make. You can do this simply by finding the Mickey head in a circle on the Disney website. It will be at the top and then follow directions. Parents can add the children to their account.

You can do a lot on line making reservations but I strongly suggest you call the Disney reservation number, 407-939-1936. They can help you secure the resort rooms and can explain about adjoining and adjacent rooms for the group and will note it on your file.

For dining I suggest you start on line at 180 days in advance. If you need some help you can also call the Disney number, 407-939-1947. I have found that I can find things on line but not when I call and vice versa so I use both when making dining reservations. Larger groups can be more difficult and if you have to split the group into two groups of 6 and try that as well.  Just remember you will rarely all sit at the same table anyway since restaurants do not have large tables available.

This panel is an awesome resource for making your plans. Start asking questions and you will get responses quickly. The panelists including myself have had experience with all things at Disney. We can suggest resorts and restaurants and you are starting your planning at the right time for us to get you started on a magical vacation of a lifetime!
