Hi. My family will be embarking on the 11 night Mediterranean sea cruise on the Disney Dream. I would like to know if there will be a pirate night (since we are not in the Caribbean) or any other theme night and how many formal/semi formal nights.

    Welcome aboard, Henry!

WOW, what an incredible summer adventure you’re planning with your family! Eleven nights on the gorgeous Disney Dream, sailing around the Mediterranean Sea, sounds like a true bucket list vacation. I can understand wanting to know the variety of themed evenings and the schedule for such a special voyage. Thank you for bringing this great question to planDisney, you’ve come to the right place and I’m happy to share all the wonderful details with you!

For your 11-Night Mediterranean Cruise leaving June 27, 2023:

    • Tuesday, Civitavecchia – Cruise Casual
    • Wednesday, Messina – Cruise Casual
    • Thursday, At Sea – Formal
    • Friday, Piraeus – Cruise Casual
    • Saturday, Santorini – Cruise Casual
    • Sunday, Mykonos – Cruise Casual
    • Monday, At Sea – Cruise Casual
    • Tuesday, Naples – Cruise Casual
    • Wednesday, At Sea – Semi-Formal
    • Thursday, Livorno – Pirate Night
    • Friday, Toulon – Cruise Casual
It appears your itinerary includes one Formal, one Semi-Formal, and one Pirate Night. Please know that while many guests enjoy pirate attire, it’s not required to have a good time and Cruise Casual is the default attire for that festive evening otherwise.

With Disney Cruise Line’s innovative rotational dining, you will be in one of the main dining rooms four times on this itinerary! If you’d like to put in a request for a particular dining rotation to have your favorite on a certain evening or to align with any adult-exclusive dining plans, please see this answer I recently answered for a Guest. You may call Disney Cruise Line to make this request, and I hope my guidance helps all your dining dreams come true!

I’m sure you’re knee-deep in researching Port Adventures for this magical voyage. There are so many incredible ports of call on this itinerary that it can be overwhelming. Be sure to have a few favorites selected for each port so that when your booking window opens you can pivot to a second choice if an adventure is already full. I always advise Guests to keep looking until sailing and inquire once onboard if needed, as Guests' plans change often and sometimes extra pixie dust is reserved for embarkation day bookings.

This will be the Disney Dream’s inaugural season in Europe and a special Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing as Disney Cruise Line celebrates it’s 25th anniversary! There is so much magic packed into this special cruise, I can hardly stand it! Your family is going to have the trip of a lifetime and I’m so thrilled for you to make these memories together.

Henry, please let us know if you have any more questions as you prepare for your trip.

Wishing you sunshine and calm seas,
    Amy
