Our family of 4 is going to DW Sept 10-14 this year. I booked a room at AKL, but am considering changing to AOA since it so new, big pool and good food. How long is transportation to MK on average? Do you have to change buses?

Don't change your room to begin with. I am a huge fan of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I stayed there in April and was amazed by the total awesomness of the resort. The lobby is extra ordinary with all of the African artifacts and gorgeous theming. There are also some great spots just outside the lobby to view the animals on the savannah anytime. The restaurants are some of the best in all of Walt Disney World. My favorite thing though was just hanging out on the balcony in my room and watching the giraffes, zebras and other wildlife just roam on that savannah. The TV in my room was off almost the entire time because the views outside are so much better. I could go on and on about this resort. It truly is my favorite at Walt Disney World. As for the Art of Animation, I was able to check out the rooms and the huge pool and they are very nice indeed. If you stay there the kids will love hearing Nemo and his pals actually speaking in the pool. It is a pretty neat effect. Also, the Finding Nemo Family Suites are really cool too. They sleep up to 6 in these themed rooms that make you feel like part of the movie. That being said, I just think that Animal Kingdom Lodge is a game changer and will add that extra Disney magic to your vacation. But that's just me. As for transportation, the rule of thumb is always 45 minutes to one hour for transportation from the resorts to the parks. I hope that wherever you decide to stay that you take the time to enjoy every moment of this magical vacation.
