Hello, My family and I are going to DW for the first time in 17days. We have the Magic your Way package and are staying at CBR. My question is how late is too late to add the dining plan, how much is it, and is it worth it? Thanks so much!

    Jennifer:

You can add the Dining Package to your reservation up to 48 hours of your arrival.  In my opinion, the dining plan with the best value is the Basic Dining Plan giving you one table service meal, one counter-service meal and one snack per night of your stay.  The cost of the Basic Dining Plan right now is $39.99 a day for adults and children 10 and over and $10.99 a day for children 3 to 9.  Children 2 and under do not have to purchase the meal plan.  You have to purchase the meal plan for every night of your stay and for everyone on your room's reservation.  And, this year, you have to pay gratuity for most table service meals on the plan.

In my opinion, I think the Basic Dining Plan is a super value if you are not staying in accommodations with a kitchen, plan on enjoying at least one or two Character Meals during your stay, and have children in your party.  In fact, when it comes to children, one Character Meal at Disney could pay for two or three days on a child's dining plan!  Some folks crinkle their nose up when they add up the cost, but believe me, you'll spend a lot more than you'd ever think if you eat at Disney a la carte.

If you have any other questions about the plan, feel free to visit me via my bio page!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
