My family are due to arrive at Disney's Beach Club on 3rd July & I have real concerns about all the scaffolding at the resort. Could there be a chance that we are given rooms with scaffolding outside the windows?

    Hi Claudia,

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with your question! Your arrival at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is just around the corner—how exciting! July is a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, and now’s the perfect moment to start your countdown, pull out those matching shirts, and double-check those dining reservations. A little planning now will go a long way once you're poolside at Stormalong Bay (fingers crossed).

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of my favorite places to stay. You’re just steps from the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT, perfect for popping in for fireworks or a quick bite. Want to switch things up? A breezy stroll along Crescent Lake takes you straight to Hollywood Studios, or hop aboard Disney Skyliner for a scenic ride above the treetops. And don’t forget the Friendship Boats. They’re a relaxing (and shaded!) way to cruise around the area.

When it comes to dining, you're in for a treat. Some of my go-to spots include Yachtsman Steakhouse for a top-tier dinner, Crew’s Cup Lounge for crafty cocktails and hearty bites, and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop for those over-the-top sundaes that taste like summer. Just across the water, the Pizza Window on Disney’s BoardWalk is a great quick-service option, and I’m counting down the days until I can return and finally try the Key Lime Pie from the Cake Bake Shop.

Now, regarding your concern: yes, refurbishment work is currently underway at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. That may mean the possibility of seeing some scaffolding or hearing occasional construction noise during your stay. That said, I’ve always found Disney to be incredibly thoughtful in minimizing the impact of these projects. Work typically happens during the day when most Guests are out enjoying the parks, and they go above and beyond to preserve the overall Guest experience.

Here’s my recommendation: when you arrive, skip Direct-to-Room Service and head to the Front Desk instead. Chat with a Cast Member about your concerns, and kindly request a room located away from the construction areas. While nothing is guaranteed, in my experience, if you’re open to waiting a little longer for a room assignment, the Cast Members will do everything they can to make your wish come true.

I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Claudia. If you have any more questions as your vacation approaches, feel free to send another my way. I’m always here to help make your Disney dreams come true.

    TTFN (ta-ta for now!),
    Brent
