Anchors Aweigh, Kristal!
Thank you for sailing by planDisney. How exciting that you are planning ahead for your next Disney Cruise Line cruise to the great wide somewhere.
Kristal, I double-checked with
Disney Cruise Line. The name that welcomes you on the TV in your Stateroom is based on the Lead Guest on the reservation. The
booking information does require your legal name. So if your legal name is your hyphenated maiden and married name, and you are the Lead Guest on the reservation, that is why it shows that way in the room. To change the welcome message on the Stateroom TV when you board, you can change the Lead Guest to be your spouse if they have the family last name. Then, when you enter your Stateroom, it should have the welcome greeting with the shared name.
When you board the ship and are announced by the Cast Member, you have the option there to tell them how you want to be introduced. But, the Stateroom name is based on your reservation information.
Now, Kristal, if you are looking for a way to welcome your family to the Stateroom with a little extra magic, I recommend ordering an
"In Room Gift" surprise to greet them. On our last cruise, I purchased a Family Nautical Package and a Disney Cruise Line Comfort Set to greet my family upon arrival. All of the items were waiting for us in the Stateroom and my kids loved the extra sprinkle of pixie dust to get their sailing off on the right flipper.
I hope this helps you, Kristal. If you have any further Disney Cruise Line questions, sail back here to see us and we will be so happy to help you.
Bon Voyage,
Keri
