My family and I will be doing a quick trip in late February 2024 and will have 2 days at the parks on Sat & Sun. If I were to purchase Genie+ on Saturday (our arrival day), am I able to book LLs at 7 am EST if we won't be on property until 2 pm?

    Hi Julie, welcome to planDisney!

I'm rolling up my sleeves because I can't wait to dig into your question about maximizing the magic during your February visit. Disney Genie+ service is a wise investment for your weekend getaway because it ensures you'll be spending less time queuein' and more time doin' during your park days. Here's how it'll work:

By 6:55 a.m. on your arrival day, you should purchase Disney Genie+ service via the homepage of the My Disney Experience mobile app. You can purchase for everyone in your party as long as you're connected as Family & Friends. You can also purchase from anywhere; I've purchased Genie+ from my home in Virginia before a morning flight to Orlando. At 7:00 a.m. on the dot, you are eligible to book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction. When you book a Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation, however, you are booking the next arrival time. This means you're going to have to keep an eye on the status of attraction arrival times on the Tip Board of your My Disney Experience app (three small lines > Tip Board) instead of booking right away. As soon as an arrival window for a desired attraction hits 2:00 p.m. or later, it's time to book! In my experience, more popular attractions like Peter Pan's Flight and Jungle Cruise will get to your arrival time benchmark first.

As soon as you've booked your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction, the time you can book your next Genie+ attraction will appear at the top of your Tip Board banner. I recommend setting a timer on your phone and booking your next attraction as soon as that alarm goes off. Continue this pattern and you may end up with three or more Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations before you even set foot in a park! This practice is often referred to as "stacking" Lightning Lanes and is a great way to experience multiple attractions in a short amount of time.

Just thinking about your magical weekend has my adrenaline pumping. The possibilities are endless and I'm so glad you plan to take full advantage of this magical gift of time! Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
