My family is doing 6 park days at Disney World in September and was wondering which parks would be best for spending an extra day at them. I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl.

Hi William! Welcome back to planDisney! Deciding which parks to visit more than once during your Disney World vacation is a very fun thing to think about!

With your six-day visit, I’m assuming you’re planning on visiting the four parks and want to decide which park(s) to visit more than once. The automatic choice for my family when facing the same question is…Magic Kingdom! We usually visit this park on our first and last full days at Disney World.

While each of us has our individual “must-do” favorites in all four of the Disney Parks, Magic Kingdom is the park where our family shares the most common favorites such as Tron Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and Mickey’s PhilharMagic! Enjoying these attractions together as a family has brought us many happy memories. Magic Kingdom is also home to two of our favorite places to eat at Disney World – Columbia Harbor House for quick-service dining and Be Our Guest Restaurant for table service dining.

William, one suggestion I can make is to talk to your little Disney prince and princess. What are their favorites? If Star Wars or Toy Story attractions are something they will NEED to do again, and they love the nighttime show Fantasmic! so much that they must see it twice, then your double park visit should most likely be to Hollywood Studios where they can enjoy Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land! On the other hand, if singing along to the heartwarming and fun songs of The Lion King at Festival of The Lion King, and seeing beautiful wildlife up close on Kilimanjaro Safaris are family favorites, then Animal Kingdom might be your park of choice to revisit!

Finally, I’ll bring it back to the park we started at with this answer. When my family makes that final stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom, that is a symbolic end to our vacation. We like that to be our “takeaway memory” of our visit before we head home (and begin planning our next visit). Perhaps Magic Kingdom is that same park for your family, but it might be another one that feels meaningful to your family.

    Dreams do come true!
