Welcome, Jonathan!
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I’m also cruising in April aboard the
Disney Magic from New Orleans – what a fun thing to look forward to in the new year! My family treasures our
Disney Cruise Line vacations with the impeccable service, onboard amenities and entertainment, and of course the
Port Adventures in beautiful destinations like Cozumel, Mexico.
The
Cozumel Port Adventures offered through Disney are plentiful; find the list of available options by port on the Disney Cruise Line website under Destinations > Port Adventures > Caribbean, then filter the list by Port of Call. Unfortunately, I don’t see the Amazing Secret River experience listed, so it appears this is not offered through Disney at this time.
I did some research on this experience online and the location looks incredible! You can book Port Adventures on your own but please know this comes with some risks on your vacation. The cancellation policies are outside of what Disney can control for this itinerary and any weather or other circumstances impacting your experience. Most importantly, you are responsible for returning to the ship on time for departure. Your itinerary currently shows 4:45pm as that critical time and the Amazing Secret River appears to be about 90 minutes away from the dock on the mainland. With Port Adventures booked through Disney, the crew is in communication to know of any delays returning to the ship but that’s not possible when you reserve an outside experience.
My family has planned the
Dune Buggy and Beach Snorkel Combo (CZ23) Port Adventure for our upcoming cruise, and loved the
Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel and Beach Party (CZ12) a few years ago. We like the peace of mind knowing logistics are taken care of when we reserve through Disney. Whatever you choose, I know your family will have lots of fun in the sun on this cruise!
You’re in for a wonderful vacation, Jonathan! The port of New Orleans is a destination on its own; I hope you have time to sample some scrumptious beignets to make Princess Tiana proud!
Please let us know if you have any more questions as you look ahead to your sailing.
Bon voyage,
Amy
