Hi, Ashley!
Great questions! Thanks so much for sending them to
Disney Parks Moms Panel!
When you travel to
Walt Disney World and use a
Disney Dining Plan, you have some dining options for your toddler. He is able to have his own plate and share from his sibling's meal or yours if he'd like to do so. You may also pay out of pocket for a meal for him or for an extra side or two that can be shared with everyone.
Regarding
Mickey's Backyard BBQ, you may also pay out of pocket for the dinner show if you would rather keep your regular Disney Dining Plan. However, because the
Deluxe Dining Plan includes 3 meals per person per night of stay, it will give you some flexibility. You would then be able to use 2 meal entitlements each for the adults and 4-year-old at the BBQ (the youngest member of your family gets to tag along for free), as well as additional options throughout the rest of your stay.
Map out your days and decide where and when you'll be dining. If your family would order 4 meals at a Quick-Service location for lunch, pay out of pocket for appetizers at dinner (which are not included in the traditional Disney Dining Plan), dine at more than one signature dining location/dinner show (thus, using two entitlements per person) and pay out of pocket for the BBQ, then the Deluxe Dining Plan may be just right for you. However, if you only see your family paying for the BBQ and sticking with the regular Disney Dining Plan entitlements during the rest of your stay, this may be more economical.
Send more questions as you plan your visit; we love to help!
