Hi, my family of 3 will be going to DisneyWorld for the first time for Mardi Gras 2013. We are currently booked at the Caribbean Beach Resort for six nights. I am just wondering if it would be better to upgrade our resort or upgrade to the deluxe dining?

    Hi Brandy,

What a great question!  Deciding what to upgrade during for your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation can be tricky.  To help make your choice a little easier, here is what I would consider.  In terms of upgrading your Resort, my number one reason to upgrade is to be closer to the magic.  Deluxe Resorts are close to at least one Theme Park and that cuts down on travel time considerably.  You should also consider how much time you are actually going to be spending at your Resort and if it is worth the added costs.  If you enjoy using the amenities at your Resort and will be spending several days at your Resort, I would definitely consider upgrading the Resort.

On the other hand, if your family enjoys dining, and would like to experience several of Walt Disney World Resort's fabulous Table Service and Signature Dining options, I would recommend to upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan.  My family and I love the Deluxe Dining Plan be cause we can use our dining entitlements for Signature Dining Options as well as Dinner Shows.  With that being said, the Disney Dining Plan is wonderful and if your family will not take advantage of the Signature Dining Options, the Deluxe Dining Plan may be too much food.

I hope my answer helps to make your decision Brandy.  Please let me know if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help!
