Hello. My family and I will be at Disneyworld between Aug.6 and Aug 12. I was wondering when the best days and times would be to go to the waterparks with a lesser crowd. ThankYou!!!

Welcome Back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Todd ~

August will be here before you know it and I love that you're planning now!

As you might imagine, the water parks are quite popular during the summer months. In my experience, I have found Mondays are better days to go. A lot of Guests arrive on Sunday to start their vacations and going to a theme park their first day is usually a must do for them. That lessens crowds (a little) at the water parks. Local residents often visit on Saturdays and Sundays so we avoid those days if possible.

I would also recommend arriving as soon as the park opens. That helps you secure chairs and hit some of the rides before the crowds arrive. It seems that a lot of Guests are more relaxed on the days they plan for water parks and arrive a little later. I've notice that Guests also start leaving after 4 p.m. so the lines get a little shorter. Save the lazy rivers and wave pools for later since they have no lines or waiting.

Rainy days (as long as there isn't any lightning in the area) are great days to go to water parks. It might be raining but you're going to get wet anyway. Just be sure you bring some plastic bags to keep your towels or change of clothes dry until you need them. Locker rentals are also available.

Both of the water parks offer private cabanas or chairs to rent. The cabanas include seating for 6, a stocked cooler with ice and bottled water, drink mugs with unlimited refills, towel service for 6 and your own private locker right there. You also get a personal attendant to make sure your every need is met which means no waiting in line for food. Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. Summer and holiday rentals go fast. Same day rentals are based on availability only at the parks.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
