Hi there, Larry - we meet again! I'm so happy to help with another vacation-planning question for your first trip to
Disney's Hilton Head Resort in South Carolina. It is a fantastic spot, and you are going to absolutely love it!
With a two-bedroom villa, you'll have plenty of space for groceries, as well as everything you need to cook some meals during your vacation. Hilton Head has plenty of great places to get fresh seafood, including all the fixings for a traditional seafood boil!
As for restaurants, it's important to know before you go that
Signals, one of the onsite quick-service dining spots at the resort, is typically closed in January.
Tide Me Over, which is a walk-up window serving breakfast and lunch, usually stays open through the winter. Hours for December and January haven't yet been released, so I recommend checking back before your trip.
In the town of Hilton Head, you will find all sorts of restaurants to suit even the pickiest of palates, ranging from casual spots to upscale dining experiences. There are lots of great online guides to the area with recommendations and menus so you can target a few that look most appealing.
The temperatures will be cooler during your visit, which makes it a really nice time of year for long walks on the beach, or biking along the many miles of paved paths around the town. You can
rent bikes at the resort, and they also offer locks and helmets!
Golf is also a really popular option for visitors to the area, with some excellent courses available for public play - I personally prefer mini golf, and you'll find plenty of options for that, too. Beyond that, Hilton Head offers spas, comedy clubs, movie theaters, and all sorts of activities that will make it easy to fill your days, whatever your interests are!
Larry, I hope you have a simply marvelous trip to Hilton Head - I can't think of a better way to ring in the New Year! Thanks so much for sending your questions our way, and c
ome back and see us anytime if we can help with other tips for this trip or any other Disney adventures.
SEA Ya Real Soon!
