Hi, Vicky!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I know your family has a magical vacation ahead at the Disneyland Resort!
Coco, the fun-loving monkey who has type 1 diabetes, is a great character that was created by Disney and Lilly Diabetes to educate children and their families about the disease. While I have not personally spotted Coco-themed merchandise in the theme parks yet, her adventures can be found in three books that are part of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse series. They include “Coco Goes Back to School,” “Coco’s First Sleepover,” and “Coco and Goofy's Goofy Day,” in which Coco shows Goofy that she can go to his birthday party, enjoy the treats and games in moderation, but still have fun. It turns out that Goofy is actually the one who struggles with limiting himself and making sensible choices.
Ask your healthcare provider for free copies of the books, or visit T1EverydayMagic.com to read digital versions of select titles and take advantage of other helpful diabetes resources. Also, new merchandise arrives at the theme parks shops often, so check with a Cast Member in person to see if you can find anything featuring Coco.
I hope this helps, Vicky, and that you have a wonderful visit to The Happiest Place on Earth with your daughter.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
