Hiya, Kristin!
Ooh! That is a tricky spot. Let’s go over a few things that you might consider to help get your entire party into the theme parks.
It is possible to purchase a
theme park ticket in person at the Disneyland Resort. However, the same
theme park reservation availability calendar applies to tickets purchased either online or in person. So I highly recommend purchasing tickets online, as it allows for the convenience of booking the needed
theme park reservations at the same time as the ticket purchase.
If park reservations are not available for the date you need, here are some tips:
- Keep checking the availability calendar. Other Guests may need to cancel their reservations for various reasons. Those canceled reservations may then become available for you to book.
- Consider rescheduling for another date that has the availability to allow for purchasing that additional ticket. Canceling a theme park reservation does not cancel the ticket. So a ticket may be used to book a reservation for another valid date using the "My Theme Park Reservations" page. If the new date is for a higher tier for one-day tickets, the one-day ticket will need to be upgraded to that higher tier first. Or if the new date is for after the expiration date of the current ticket, again, the ticket must be upgraded to a new ticket of equal or greater value first.
- You may check the availability calendars for other ticket types. For example, if Park Hopper tickets have reservation availability when one-park tickets don’t, you may purchase a Park Hopper ticket and use it like a one-park ticket with the rest of the group.
- A Magic Key pass may be another option to consider. The Magic Key Access Calendar may also show park reservations available for your preferred date. Plus, you would get the benefit of 12 months of magic with your new Magic Key! It would also be possible to transfer an existing theme park ticket to another Guest that may not choose to purchase a Magic Key pass.
- If you happen to be staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you’ll be able to enjoy access to theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests. By linking both a theme park ticket and your hotel reservation to the same account, you’ll be able to retrieve your hotel reservation to take advantage of this inventory of reservations.
I hope that one of these tips helps get your whole party into the Disneyland Resort theme parks, Kristin. If there are any other questions you may have about the Disneyland Resort, please come visit us again at planDisney.
