Hello, my family and I will be going to Disneyland on January 13th for my oldest daughters 5th birthday. She’s a huge Ariel fan and would love to see her. Any info or suggestions on how we can make that happen? Any other birthday perks? Thank you.

Hi Giovanny! Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for asking this question! I'm so happy to hear that you will be visiting The Happiest Place on Earth in just 10 days! Our family has celebrated many birthdays at Disneyland and it's always extra magical!

At this time, Ariel is under the sea helping King Triton with gadgets, whooz-its, and what-its, but I'm happy to suggest some other fun ways to celebrate your princess's birthday during your visit! As soon as you arrive inside Disneyland Park, stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. to receive a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button that can be personalized with your daughter's name! Then, I would recommend purchasing a Mickey-shaped balloon (or two), head to Sleeping Beauty Castle, and have her photo taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer to capture this special occasion!

After you have photos taken, stroll over to Fantasyland and check out The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland shop. On many visits, I have seen Mickey ears birthday hats and Minnie birthday ears at this location. Purchasing one of these would be a fun addition to your celebration! While in Fantasyland, be sure to ride "it's a small world" and tell your daughter to be on the lookout for Ariel and her friends!

If your plans include a park hopper ticket, you can swim on over to Disney California Adventure Park
where you can ride The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure. This is always a must-do for our family and we can't help but sing along to the music! Knowing your daughter is a huge Ariel fan, I know she will love it!

Our family always loves to celebrate a birthday with a special meal! If you make a dining reservation for your visit, be sure to let them know you are celebrating a birthday! In my experience, they will likely include a complimentary, yummy dessert!

Before you end your day at the theme parks, be sure to check out Emporium or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland Park for The Little Mermaid-themed merchandise. An Ariel doll or a special toy would be a perfect gift for your little princess!

I hope you and your family have an absolutely magical day celebrating your daughter's birthday at Disneyland Resort! Please visit us again at planDisney if we can answer any other questions in the future!

    Smiles,
    Lisa
