Hi! My family and I are going to Disneyland and California Adventure at the beginning of October. I saw a comment on TikTok that it’ll be all decorated and set up for the holiday and we won’t see any of the 70th anniversary stuff. Is that true?

    Hi Typhanni,

Welcome back to planDisney! I am so thrilled you've returned to let us be part of your magical planning once again. I'm absolutely excited to hear you're heading to the Disneyland Resort this October! October decor is my favorite, especially Cars Land; be sure to visit at night to really enjoy the decor.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort begins August 22 and runs through October 31, celebrating all things spooky and sweet. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Plaza De La Familia will also be in full swing from August 22 through November 2, honoring the spirit of Día de los Muertos with vibrant decor, heartwarming traditions, and festive entertainment.

During this time, the parks will be decked out in haunting Halloween decorations, and there will be a pause in the 70th Anniversary entertainment. As of now, we haven’t received word on whether any anniversary touches will remain during the fall festivities, or if there might be a blend of holiday magic and anniversary sparkle. For the latest sneak peeks and official updates, I highly recommend following Disney Parks Blog on Instagram. They’re fantastic at sharing behind-the-scenes looks and exciting news straight from the parks!

If your heart is set on seeing the full shimmer and shine of the 70th Anniversary celebration, here are a few enchanted options to consider:

Move your trip earlier: Consider visiting in late July or early August, when the anniversary magic is still in full swing! Plus, there are currently some special ticket and hotel offers to make your visit even more magical.

Push for a later visit: The 70th Anniversary celebration is set to return after the holiday season wraps up (sometime after January 7, 2026) and will continue through summer 2026. That means even more time to soak up the colorful decor and dazzling entertainment.

Double the magic: If you're anything like me, there's no such thing as too much Disney. Why not plan for a second trip and experience the best of both worlds. Halloween fun this fall and anniversary magic next year?

I hope this helps make your planning even more magical, Typhanni! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true!

    Wishing you a wonderful vacation,
