Hi. My family has never been to Disney World before and I have a question about how the meal plans work. Does your meal plans coincide with the number of days you are staying at the resort or the number of days you purchased tickets? Thanks!

Hello LeeAnn.  I'm so happy you've come to the Disney Parks Moms Panel for your first Walt Disney World vacation travel questions.  We are always here to help!

Your Disney Dining Plan credits are based on the number of nights you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.  So if you've purchased a package for 7 nights at a resort and 5 days of park tickets, you would get 7 credits per person in each of the credit categories.  Keep in mind, everyone staying in your room must be on the same dining plan and it is only offered to on property guests.  I personally love the Disney Dining Plan.  We either purchase it or book our vacation when the special promotion for free dining is available each trip we take to Walt Disney World.  My favorite plan is the standard plan that consists of 1 Quick Service Credit, 1 Table Service Credit and 1 Snack Credit per person per night.  We really enjoy taking time away from the parks each day to enjoy a nice sit down meal.  If you are interested in character meals, this is a great plan for you.  We always save money when on the Disney Dining Plan.

I hope this helps clear up some confusion.  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask us. Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
