My family and I will be in Disney World for one full day only before departing for a Disney Cruise. We've never been to DW and have been told by friends to stick to one park only. Which park?? Kids are 14 and 10

    Hi, Teresa!

I do not know what is more exciting - a visit to Walt Disney World or sailing on the high seas with Captain Mickey aboard Disney Cruise Line. Two of my very favorite things!   I have to agree with your friends and stick to one Disney theme park if you only have one day. But no worries, you can really fill that day with tons of magic. In my opinion, that one park should definitely be Magic Kingdom. Let's get some plans together to make that day super special!

Let's get the business stuff done first:  Plan to purchase your theme park tickets before you arrive. Have your tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account. This will allow you to book your FastPass+ selections (up to 60 days in advance if staying on property; 30 days prior if not staying at a Disney resort).

To make the most of your one park day, get to the front gates of the Magic Kingdom about 20 minutes before opening. You can enjoy many attractions with little or no wait first thing in the morning. Book those FastPasses for mid-day or early evening when the crowds are at their highest.

For a nice break, schedule a fun meal, such as a buffet dinner with Pooh and Friends at the Crystal Palace. This is something you never outgrow, so I think you teen and tween will enjoy this.  If you are staying on property, you might choose to even add in a couple hour pool break back at your resort. This is up to you!

The wonderful part is that this is just the beginning of the fun for you as you leave for DCL the next day. Enjoy your time at both land and sea!
