    My family and I are going to Disney World in June 2019. We really want to go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Is it true that they are discontinuing this dining experience?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa! I’m excited to know that you are in the process of planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort for next June! Thanks for stopping by with your question. 

    I’m sad to say it but yes, it’s true. Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will serve up its last few rootin’ tootin’ meals at the end of this year. My family and I just visited the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort last week and I noticed an exciting new experience on Clementine’s Beach for New Year’s Eve. The Fort Wilderness Beach Dessert Party!

    I would keep an eye out for news of this event becoming more permanent on the Disney Parks Blog. It could be a big hit that would provide some more fun at this resort since Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will be hanging up its hat. 

    Melissa, in the meantime, you can always consider the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue as a dinner option. The show is so fun, and I love their dessert! Their strawberry shortcake is a hit in my book!
