Hi Danielle!
I'm so happy that you've visited us here on the Moms Panel to help you plan your family's very first trip to Walt Disney World! If you haven't already, you'll want to order your free
Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD so you can learn about everything there is to see and do. Plus, it's a really great way to get the family all excited about the magic they're about to experience! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year to visit and I'm really excited that you've chosen October for your first trip.
My all-time favorite special event at Walt Disney World is
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The event is held on select nights from September to October. The tone of the event is "not-so-scary," which means dreamers of all ages can enjoy this party. This is a seperate ticketed event where the Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00 p.m. for regular Park Guests and the party goes until midnight! There is even a special parade and special fireworks just for this party! It's not to be missed!
As for character dining, I would recommend that you try out Chef Mickey's. I think it's very important to meet the Big Cheese at his restaurant on your first visit. Also in attendance are Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. Reservations are strongly recommended as this is a very popular place! You can make reservations
online or by calling 407.WDW.DINE [939.3463]. Please come back and see us if we can help with any other questions you may have.
Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
