Hey there, Jason!
Welcome to planDisney. I am so excited to see that you have a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth planned for this summer.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is an excellent choice for your hotel accommodations. The island vibes and lush scenery make this a tropical getaway that's great for both mid-day breaks and late-night relaxation.
This will be important with seven days of adventure coming up for you and your travel party! My personal recommendation would be to include a couple of half-day visits to the parks or schedule a few long afternoons back at the resort. This will help keep energy levels up and give you time to enjoy your stay at Caribbean Beach. Be sure to plan some pool time! Summer days in Florida get hot, and a refreshing swim is a great way to cool off. A few hours at the pool, and you will be ready to head back to the parks reenergized and refreshed. The feature pool, Fuentes del Morro, is zero entry with two waterslides. There is a super fun shipwreck-themed splash area nearby and a great pool bar,
Banana Cabana. A Caribbean Mai Tai is extra refreshing after a long day at the parks. Jason, I am a huge fan of rope dropping at the theme park of the day, leaving right after lunch, and heading back to the parks just before dinner. I love doing this a few times on my trip because it gives you the benefits of rope dop and park close on the same day, without feeling completely exhausted by the time you get back to your room. This also works well if you have younger travelers that still enjoy a mid-day snooze. Convenient Disney Transportation is a huge help when it comes to making this happen. This resort offers both bus and
Disney Skyliner transportation. The Skyliner is super fast and will get you from EPCOT to the pool in no time at all.
Now that we have talked about breaks on long trips, let's talk about when to head to a
Disney waterpark! I suggest putting this day right in the middle of your trip, for two reasons. The first is a change of scenery. A waterpark day halfway through your trip will give you time to soak up a little family fun on a sandy beach or try a ginormous wave pool, all with a splash Disney Magic. Days in the theme parks are so exciting and there tend to be very few moments of slowing down. Having a day dedicated to surf lessons and slides is the perfect vacation refresh! I also recommend doing this in the middle because Florida weather happens. It may be tempting to wait until you have finished seeing and doing everything on your theme park wish list, but if your last day ends up being all-day thunderstorms, it may put a rain cloud over your plans. Scheduling this for midweek gives you options if you need to change your itinerary.
My last tip is to spend time deciding on those theme park must-dos as a family. This will help you determine how much time to allocate to each of the four theme parks. You may find you need several days at Magic Kingdom Park and only an evening at EPCOT. Every Ohana is different! And remember you can change your plans as you go. There has been a trip or two in my past when we checked everything off our Disney's Hollywood Studios list faster than expected and needed more time at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Just be sure to change your
Disney Park Pass Reservation if needed!
I hope that your trip is memorable and magical!
We'll see ya real soon!
