My family and I will be at Disney World this Christmas. Currently we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We have the opportunity to upgrade our stay to Disney's Beach Club Resort. What are the benefits if we upgrade? Are the rooms larger?

    Hello, David,

If I had a chance to upgrade to the Beach Club Resort, I'd do so without hesitation!  The 3 acre pool at the resort is reason enough for my family:  300 foot slide, sand-bottom pool, sand bar, lazy river.  You can also walk to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, not to mention you can walk to the Boardwalk Resort/activities & the Swan/Dolphin resorts (which for me translates to getting my Starbucks fix!).  There are also 5 restaurants to choose from just at the Yacht/Beach Club resorts.

As for the rooms themselves, you will go from Port Orleans Riverside that has 2,048 rooms, each 314 square feet to the Beach Club that has 576 rooms, each 381 square feet. You will also find more amenities for you to enjoy during your stay.

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again.

Have a magical trip and enjoy all the wonder of Walt Disney World at Christmas!
