This will be the 1st family disney vacation for us. It will be me, my wife and my 2 daughters, ages 2 & 3. I was wondering which value or moderate resort would u recommend for us? I want easy access to parks and a nice place to take those midday naps

    Armando:

Let me break it gently: if you want proximity to the parks you have to pay a deluxe price....

Unfortunately, if you want a value or moderate price, you give up the monorail and boat access to the parks which many feel get you in your room faster for that afternoon nap....I'm yawning just thinking about it!

HOWEVER....There's an option you may want to consider that might give you enough of the best of both worlds!

The Swan & Dolphin Hotels!  Located in the "Epcot" area, these hotels are run by Westin and Sheraton.  Primarily used for conventions, they lend a deluxe feel without the deluxe price (did I mention heavenly beds!).  My children LOVED the pool and "lake" area--very sophisticated with waterfalls--and you can't beat access to Epcot and Disney Studios by boat.  It's a nice stroll down to the Boardwalk area for street performers to entertain your children, and they even have a Character meal on property along with a fun ice cream shop!

The only downside is that you cannot get the dining plan if you stay there nor package delivery to your room.  But if your priority is park proximity and price, it fits the bill!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
