My family of 5 is going to Disney in Sept. My middle son is turning 8 while we are there. Saving Chef Mickey for the yougest. Where should I make a reservation for a character dinner or lunch for his B-Day?

Hello Pamela, this is a tough one because all of Disney's character dining is really fun for me.  Chef Mickey for your youngest is perfect and your 8 year old will love it too.

For your birthday boy...I like breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom.  You get to meet Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy!  It's a really cool location and you can spend the rest of your day there exploring!  My son adores Animal Kingdom...it's his favorite Park!  Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort is also a wonderful character breakfast.  It's family style, which means A LOT OF FOOD...and he'd also get to meet Lilo and Stitch...two of the best characters in my book!

I'd also like to suggest another option.  You can also make a reservation for "Spirit of Aloha" at Disney's Polynesian Resort for dinner.  It is not a character dining experience, but it's an exciting, all you can eat, family style luau that features fire knife dancers!  Special celebrations are announced during the show.  You can make any of your dining reservations 180 days prior to your visit by calling (407)WDW-DINE.

Please wish your birthday boy a happy one from me and don't forget to get his complimentary birthday button upon arrival at your resort or Park!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
