My family of 5 will be at Disney on New Years Eve. We will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. What park would you suggest that we go to for New Years Eve. I was told to go to the park that is easier to get home from. :)

    Hi Marci!

To get back to Port Orleans Riverside, you will have to take a bus from whatever theme park you are at.  Disney generally does a great job having extra buses on hand on a night like that, but the parks will be very crowded and it will take a long time regardless of which park you are at.  Thus I recommend instead of worrying about the return trip, to think about what park you would like to be in the whole day.  Based on past experience, there's a good chance the Magic Kingdom will close sometime in the day due to capacity, meaning no more guests will be allowed in.  Thus if you want to watch the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom, you should plan on going over there in the morning and staying all day.

However, I recommend going to Epcot instead.  Epcot is a very large park with large open spaces and in my opinion does a great job absorbing crowds.  Also, their nighttime spectacular Illuminations can be viewed from anywhere along World Showcase Lagoon making it easier to find a good spot to watch the fireworks.

Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll have a great time and a magical night!  Enjoy!
