My family will be at Disney in May and we will be visiting all 4 parks, we want to know the best places to get a quick service lunch in each of the parks. We already have our dinner reservations.

    Mariann:

I typically preface any answer with the word 'best' in it by adding that it depends on what you think 'best' means: cheapest, tastiest, shortest line, best view... so here are a few of my thoughts on the best counter service restaurants in each park and why I consider them the 'best':

    • Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue gets my vote for best value due to its big portions and the view from its tables behind the restaurant next to the water under the tree canopy. Pizzafari's Italian Sandwich comes in as a close second but the restaurant is noisy and the lines can be long. If you find yourself here, though, go to the last room of the restaurant where you'll find fewer people and less noise.
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios: The Grilled Vegetable Sandwich at Backlot Express brings me back here but the dining room is so noisy that if I'm needing some space I'll head to Studio Catering where there is always a table and nearby character meet-and-greets. Healthier options like a Greek Salad and a wrap are on its menu.
    • Epcot: Sunshine Seasons wins hands-down for my family because it offers lots of choices from soups and salads to Asian dishes and grilled specials. Don't miss the dessert case.
    • Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House takes top seed for best ambiance if you'll head upstairs to its quiet dining room. Its grilled salmon is surprisingly delicious while it offers a significantly hefty kid's menu.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
