Hi. Our family of 3 will be going to Disney in January (none of us have ever been). While we are there, my daughter will be turning 8. Is there anything special WDW does for birthdays or anything we need to do to make it extra special?

    Hi Brandy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Happy dance, happy dance, first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!!! What a wonderful way to celebrate your daughter's eighth birthday.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, call 407-939-5277 to speak to a cast member in guest services and request that a note about the birthday be added to your reservation. When you arrive at the resort, you can also request a special birthday button that your daughter could wear each day she is in the parks. Cast members will greet her with happy birthday and you never know what other pixie dust might come her way while there.

We like to make dining reservations at a special restaurant for my husband's birthday when we visit. One of our favorite signature restaurants is California Grill. We love watching the fireworks from Magic Kingdom while dining. The view is absolutely stunning!

You could also order a special cake. The last time I visited, we celebrated a friend's birthday with a Mickey Mouse cake. It was super cute and she was so surprised! We have also ordered princess balloons for our girls from Disney Floral & Gifts. The girls were in total shock.

Brandy, be sure that you make Fast Pass+ selections for rides that she might like. And check out the enchanting extras options. You could create the perfect princess day!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
