Hello! My family and I are going to Disney Hilton Head for the first time in a couple weeks. I see beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented. However - are we allowed to bring our own or is the cost of rentals posted anywhere allowed online?

    Hiya, Brenna!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for swimming by with your question. How exciting that you are planning an upcoming stay at one of Disney's Beach Resorts - Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. My husband and I stayed there last year, and it was a wonderful way to spend our vacation flippin' our fins in the ocean while being immersed in the magic of Disney!

Brenna, I just checked with the front desk at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and the Cast Member was very helpful. She informed me that you can rent chairs and umbrellas at the lifeguard stand at the beach.  The rentals are not operated by Disney, but they are rented by Shore Beach, which is operated by the town of Hilton Head.  The Cast Member noted they have a website you can review.  The rentals are $45 for two chairs and an umbrella per day. As they are not rented by Disney, unfortunately, there is no Disney Vacation Club discount for the rentals.

You can bring your own chairs, umbrellas, and cooler to the beach if you prefer.  A couple of things to note, however, are that the beach house is separate from the main Resort, and it's about a five-minute drive. There is limited parking at the beach house, and it fills up usually around 10:30 a.m.  There is a complimentary shuttle you can take from the main Resort, and you can bring your own chairs, umbrellas, and cooler onto the shuttle. I would not recommend walking if you are transferring your own equipment.

There are two quick-service restaurants at the Resort. Tide Me Over is at the main Resort, on the deck above the pool area, and Signals is at the beach house. There are restrooms, another pool, and an indoor lounge if you need some air conditioning at the beach house as well. Be sure to check the activity board near Community Hall for Cast Member-led events and character visits.

I hope this helps you, Brenna! If you have any further Disney vacation questions, stop back here, and I'll be so happy to help you. We got no troubles, life is the bubbles!

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
