My family is going to disney for the first time in June. My kids are 5 and 2. Can you suggest a good table service restaurant for lunch that is near Epcot or Magic Kingdom? We have the dining plan and already have ADR at Chef Mickey's and Akershus. Thanks!

    Hi Elissa,

I'm so glad you added the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package. Doing so allows you to try the many wonderful culinary delights around the World! While at Epcot, I'd suggest Coral Reef, Garden Grill or Teppan Edo for lunch with little ones. Although it may appear upscale on paper, Teppan Edo held my preschoolers attention with the amazing skills of the Teppan-yaki-style cooking while pleasing the adults with the delicious flavors and ambiance. We've continued to dine at Teppan Edo with every trip and always recall our children learning to use chopsticks here right at about your children's ages!

While at Magic Kingdom, I'd certainly recommend the popular Be Our Guest Restaurant. The quick service style will require you to line up as early as 10:30 a.m., however the dining rooms do hold up to 550 guests so you shouldn't have too long a wait. Although Cinderella's Royal Table is as traditional as they come and a true delight to dine within Cinderella Castle, dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall will likely suit your needs for meeting Princesses. The Crystal Palace would be my other suggestion with small children, especially if they enjoy the Hundred-Acre Wood characters!

It's important to book all of your Advanced Dining Reservations before you arrive, with the exception of Be Our Guest lunch, mentioned above.

Definitely consider booking meals at the Disney Resort Hotels. Our favorites include Cape May Cafe, Boma, 1900 Park Fare and 'Ohana. Good job on booking Chef Mickey's!

Feel free to write back with further questions, Elissa! I'm happy to help create a magical vacation.
