Hello, Shahin! Welcome to planDisney. Thank you for cruising to us with your question.
It looks like your adventure at sea is just around the corner! It won't be long before you are sailing away on the
Disney Dream for one amazing vacation. I'd love to help you know what to expect as you disembark on the final morning of your voyage.
In my experience, the earliest time that guests can participate in what is called "Express Walk Off" is approximately 7:15 a.m. If all is on schedule, the ship will likely pull into port earlier in the morning but must be cleared by local authorities before guests are allowed to exit. If you would like to be one of the first to disembark, I recommend that you eat a quick breakfast in Cabanas as soon as it opens (check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the opening time on that final morning) and then bring your luggage to the atrium by 6:50 a.m. to wait for the announcement that guests may disembark. Please note that this time is an estimate. I recommend that you speak to Guest Services on the final night of your voyage for an updated time suggestion.
Once you exit the ship, you will then go through customs before leaving the cruise terminal. The time that it takes to get through customs really varies, so it is difficult for me to give you an estimate.
Disney Cruise Line recommends that guests do not book flights departing before noon out of the Miami International Airport, to allow for plenty of time for variables like delayed entry into the Port of Miami or traffic to the airport. With your flight out of Fort Lauderdale, I would say a flight around 12:15 or 12:30 p.m. would be appropriate.
If I was in your shoes, I would attempt to change my flight to a later time, if at all possible. I think it would alleviate any stress or worry on the final morning of your vacation. I'm wishing you a relaxed sailing, filled with happy memories!
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
