My family will be on the Disney Dream from April 8-12 at Port Everglades. What is the very earliest we can get off the ship on the 12th? Our flight is out of FLL at 9:45am and it's non-refundable. How often is there a delay in customs clearance?

Ahoy there Reiny!  I bet you are counting down the days until you sail away on the Disney Dream.

Disney Cruise Line recommends that the earliest departure from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on debarkation day be 11:00 AM.  Delays in the ship being cleared by port authorities and delays in customs cannot be predicted, unfortunately.  If there are no delays, you may get off the ship between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.

I suggest that you use Express Walk-off to be among the first Guests who are able to leave the ship.  If you decide to use Express Walk-off, you will not place your luggage outside your stateroom the night before debarkation.  You keep all of your luggage with you when you leave your stateroom.  There will be an announcement that the ship has been cleared by port authorities and Guests are welcome to disembark the ship.  Travel time from the port to the airport is about 15 minutes, but traffic could impact travel time.

If you have any other questions, sail back to planDisney anytime.  I hope your upcoming cruise is all you hope and dream of.
