Hi, Celeste!
Welcome to
Disney Parks Moms Panel; I am so glad you sent this question our way!
My family uses a
Disney Dining Plan when touring
Walt Disney World often, and we sometimes have an adult among us who is a bit of a finicky eater. This was especially true when our daughter was old enough to be considered an adult on the Dining Plan, but still wanted to order chicken fingers and fries while we dined at finer restaurants.
When this happens, we simply ask our server if we are able to order items from the kids' menu, using an adult Table Service credit; when that is not possible, our servers have always offered an adult-sized portion of items from the kids' menu. If not offered, simply ask. You'll find servers have creative ways of helping guests enjoy options that are suited to their particular needs.
At Quick-Service locations, ask the Cast Member taking your order if this is possible, as the answer will vary depending on location. Should you have specific dietary requests, ask to speak with a manager upon arrival at the dining location. There are often accommodations which can be made as well.
Finally, with all Walt Disney World buffets, guests are welcome to select items from both the full buffet as well as the kids area. For example, one of my favorite breakfast items, Pooh's Puffed French Toast, is available only at Pooh's Corner Children's Buffet at Magic Kingdom's
The Crystal Palace. Don't be shy; you're on vacation. Enjoy what looks best...you won't be the only one doing so. :-)
Send more questions as you plan your magical stay, Celeste; we love to help!
