Family is going to Disney in Dec. with vacation pkge. If free dining becomes available and wanted to change from a value resort to mod. resort, would I lose my $200 deposit or is applied to new ressie? Do you have to pay another $200 dpst on new ressie?

Hi Michelle!  You are going to be visiting Walt Disney World at a wonderful time - the theme parks and resorts are decorated so beautifully in December!  Be sure to fit in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot while you're there - it is so enjoyable, and one of my favourite things during the holidays.

Should a free dining promotion be announced for the time you have already booked, you would be able to switch to a moderate resort and have your current deposit moved to your new reservation - don't worry, you won't lose it.  There may be a penalty if it is within 45 days of your check-in date, so just be aware of that.  To be perfectly honest with you, the chances of free dining being announced for December are low - I'm not saying it can't happen, but generally free dining promotions are for dates when bookings are low and they need to entice visitors to come.  We can always hope for some pixie dust though, right?

Michelle, please let me know if you have any other questions while planning your December vacation to Walt Disney World - I would be more than happy to help you!  Have a magical day!
