We are a family of 4 going on a Disney cruise in July. I want to stay 2 nights before at a Disney Resort & 2 nights after the cruise. Any money saving ideas for the trip? I plan on using the free translation to and from the airport. Thanks

    Hi there, Brandon!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for stopping by with your question about an upcoming Land and Sea vacation!  I cannot think of a better vacation than what you are planning because you will get to do it all – the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort, a Disney Cruise Line vacation AND a stop at Castaway Cay!  Sounds pretty perfect to me!

First off, if you haven’t yet done so, I highly recommend contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to discuss a Land and Sea vacation package to see if there are any savings in booking it as a package as opposed to booking your theme park visit and your Disney Cruise Line vacation separately.  You can also book ground transfers from your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to Port Canaveral at that time OR you can look into a private car transfer to get you to Port Canaveral.  Sometimes a private transfer can be more cost effective than the Disney Cruise Line transfers, so that is definitely something I would look into as a way to save some money!

One thing that is so great about a Disney Cruise Line vacation is that so much is already included with your reservation – food, sodas, onboard activities and entertainment – it’s all included with your reservation and you could literally get onboard and not spend a single penny and still have the most memorable and magical vacation!  You will want to plan for the suggested gratuities that are paid to your incredible stateroom host or hostess and dining room team that will undoubtedly make your vacation extra special, but aside from that, you really could enjoy yourselves at a very minimal cost onboard!  Disney Cruise Line allows Guests to bring bottled water and/or alcohol onboard, so by doing so, there is another easy way to save some money during your time onboard.  There are some great photo packages that can be purchased ahead of time online for a savings, so if you know you will want to bring all those memories, go ahead and purchase the package ahead of time for a savings!

Brandon, I hope that some of these tips are helpful in planning your vacation.  Please visit us again with any other planning questions you may have!  Wishing you the most magical of adventures on land and at sea!
