My family is going on a Disney cruise for the first time. I found a kosher menu from 2019, and was wondering if the options are still the same or if there are new ones. As a picky eater as well, I want to make sure I will like what I eat. Thanks!

    Hi there, Adina!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I am happy to answer your question! We have food allergies in our family, and I know how important it is to feel comfortable with the food you are served when traveling.

Menus on the Disney Cruise Line change often. Subsequently, Disney Cruise Line asks Guests to submit their request for kosher meals at least 5 weeks before their sail date. This can be done through the "Special Requests" option under "My Reservations" on the Disney Cruise Line website. Since you also have meal preferences, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line to share your favorite kosher foods. My family members with food allergies also have food preferences, and we have been able to share those preferences with Disney Cruise Line ahead of time. Meal requests are not guaranteed, but the Crew Members do their best to make Guests happy in my experience. They want you to have a wonderful trip, which includes enjoying your meals!

I also recommend visiting the Onboard Dining Session that usually takes place on Embarkation Day. The time for the Onboard Dining Session can be found in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app after boarding the ship. This is an opportunity to ensure your dining requests are noted in your account, and the Crew Members can direct you on where to eat on the first day. They usually recommend that my family dine in one of the main restaurants that day. Generally, only one table service restaurant is open for lunch, plus a buffet-style restaurant, such as Cabanas. Additionally, before placing your order at any restaurant, notify the dining team of your need for a kosher meal. Disney Cruise Line offers rotational dining on most nights. You will change restaurants for dinner throughout your cruise, but your dining team will stay with you. This is very helpful when you have food restrictions and preferences, as they get to know what you like. Before leaving dinner each evening, I also recommend placing your meal orders with the dining team for the following day (if that option is available). This way you know what and where you will eat each day.

Adina, have a magical cruise! Sailing on the Disney Cruise Line is one of the best ways to spend time with your family. I hope you reach out to planDisney if you have other questions.

    Happy sailing!
