Hi Shannon -
There is so much to love about
Castaway Cay -- it is absolutely our family's favorite beach! You and your crew are in for such a treat. I'm so excited that you will be experiencing this special place next year.
The clear Bahamian water feels generally warmer than the beach water that I'm used to in the pacific. I don't think you will have any issues with enjoying any water activities in April. Though it can be chilly at first, you'll likely find yourself swimming around in just a short period of time. You can choose to do as little or as much on this vacation. Your brief one day stop at Castaway Cay will be time well spent enjoying time under the sun.
You'll likely be interested in doing some snorkeling at the snorkeling lagoon - check out the special treasures under water. You'll surely want to bring a water proof camera with you. Spring-a-Leak and Pelican Plunge will get your heart rate pumping -- and warm up those bodies real quick! It's thrilling for kids, big and small. The adult-beach at Serenity Bay is amazing! The 18-year old and older
big kids will love it there -- if you go early enough in the morning, you might catch the sand bar. It disappears in front of your eyes right around lunch time. Enjoy the yummy all-you-care-to-eat lunch on the island... and as much ice cream that you like.
Have a spectacular time, Shannon. Let us know if you have any additional questions. In the mean time, here's a
peek at Castaway Cay.
Have a great day!
~ Dolly
