My family and I will be in Disney in a couple of weeks, I was considering purchasing a Yeti HOPPER® M20 BACKPACK SOFT COOLER to bring into the parks. Will this be allowed in? The specs seem to be correct for what the park allows. Thank you!

    Royal greetings, Katie!

Welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you've stopped by with a terrific Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It sounds like you're gearing up for an adventure to The Most Magical Place on Earth. I'd be happy to help you prepare for your journey Into the Unknown - or at least into the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks!

Yoo-hoooo! Just like Wandering Oaken's Trading Post (and Sauna), planDisney is here to help you get outfitted for your next Disney Destinations adventure. Katie, when considering what items will be permitted into the theme parks, we must refer to the Walt Disney World Resort property rules. The list of prohibited items states that coolers larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not permitted into the theme parks or water parks. Katie, I did a quick internet search and found that the cooler you mentioned is 15" long x 10" wide x 18" high, so I would expect that it'd be permitted into the parks! However, every Guest and item is subject to security screening at the entrances to the theme parks and water parks, and, ultimately, the decision on what is (and isn't) permitted rests with the Security Cast Members at these locations.

Katie, I'm not sure where you're visiting from, but it seems like Elsa has been working her magic up here in the Midwest these past few weeks. But the cold never bothered me, anyway! Speaking of cold - I'm sure you're wondering how to keep the items in your cooler, well - cool - during your time in the theme parks. It's important to note that neither loose nor dry ice is permitted (sorry, Kristoff!). Alternatively, reusable ice packs are encouraged, so leave the ice and snow at home when you head to The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you find that you need cups of ice, you're always welcome to request this at the food and beverage locations in the theme parks.

I hope you've found these details helpful as you prepare for an exciting winter escape, Katie! I wish you a trip filled with adventure and thrill. If you have any additional vacation planning questions, feel free to revisit us at planDisney anytime. We're here to help you make magical memories with the people worth melting for in your life!

    Warm winter wishes,

    Lauren
