Welcome to planDisney, Scott! I am so excited you want to begin that magical adventure of planning a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. You came to the right place, and I am so happy to help! First off, visiting in April will be a wonderful time, spring is here, and with that comes the arrival of some fun and exciting events that happen then, including one of my favorites,
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. This is one event you do not want to miss out on!
Scott, the first big piece of advice I would give you is to make a list of rides, attractions, restaurants, and experiences that are absolute musts for you and your family. I will not lie, planning a Walt Disney World vacation without background knowledge of the entire resort can be very daunting, because a lot of people do not know how massive it is. The next thing would be the order of the theme parks you visit. If you want the best experience, I recommend spending full days in each of the four theme parks and using your fifth day as a Park Hopper day, so that you can go back and ride some attractions you absolutely loved or making a reservation at a restaurant that you didn't get to experience your first day there. My family and I usually start our vacations and end with visits to
Disney's Magic Kingdom Park. We follow with Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. I recommend downloading the My Disney Experience app to your phone, and once you have booked your vacation, make sure to add the
Disney Genie service to your reservation. Finally, the last and probably most important piece of advice I want to share is to take the time to soak the magic in. There is something truly special about Walt Disney World, and take the time to sit down on a bench with a delicious snack or drink, and look down Main Street, U.S.A., listen to the music playing, the laughter, and excitement emanating in the air. There is nothing like it!
Have the most wonderful visit with your family, Scott! It truly is the Most Magical Place on Earth!
