I have a family of 6 we are on the dining plan and all tickets and resorts and mickeys Halloween have been paid for. I also budgeted for tips and mouse keeping and the kids will get a gift card from us. How much extra money should I bring for 6 days?

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

It sounds like you are super prepared for your trip! I think you've done a great job covering all the bases for expenses. One of the reasons I love getting the Disney Dining Plan is so I'm not constantly shelling out money for meals on vacation. Having our food paid for in advance makes it easier to relax and enjoy the experience. I see that you budgeted for tips, so I am guessing you're aware that the dining plan does not include tips. Other tips you may need would be for Bell Services or Valet Parking. Something to consider is that even when we use the dining plan, we usually spend some more on snacks and drinks at the parks. I have teenage boys, so they're always hungry!

Since you have already budgeted for most things that I can think of, I will say that the extra money you need is highly subjective. My husband would tell you one number, and I (who LOVES buying souvenirs) would come up with another, much higher amount! You said your kids are getting gift cards, but you may think about if you will want your own budget for shopping. The Walt Disney World Resort gift shops are full of cute t-shirts, home decor, purses and so much more that I have a hard time not buying anything at all. You may also consider bringing extra money for unexpected items like medicine or band-aids that you can find in your resort gift shop.

The only other expense I can think of would be if the adults in your party planned on having multiple alcoholic beverages at meals. A few glasses of wine or beer can add up, so you would want to plan for that.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions as you plan.
