If our family decides to stay off site, then will be still have magic bands? Also, would we still be allowed to book dining reservations 180 days before our trip?

Hi, Nicole! Thank you for stopping by with your question. To me, MagicBands are the coolest aspect of MyMagic+. These colorful devices unlock a whole new world of theme park planning. With one flick of your wrist, you can be instantly connected to your My Disney Experience account, which houses all of your Advance Dining Reservations, FastPass+ selections and Memory Maker. However, a MagicBand is not required to experience all of this magic.

While only Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests will be issued a complimentary MagicBand, Guests staying off-property can use their theme park tickets much in the same way. A tap of your linked theme park ticket to the Mickey touchpoint will also get you connected. While the simple theme park ticket is awesome in its own right, you may decide that you would like to experience the convenience the MagicBand affords its wearer. You are more than welcome to purchase and link a MagicBand. There are new ones introduced frequently, such as the ones recently announced on the Disney Parks Blog. I definitely have my eye on the Figment and Spaceship Earth one!

Nicole, if you do decide to stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, you will be able to book Advance Dining Reservations for up to 10 days of your entire vacation when you are 180 days from your date of check-in. You will still be able to book your reservations 180 days in advance if you do not stay at a Resort hotel, but you will not be able to use the "+10" benefit. You will instead book your choice of dining experiences one day at a time.

I hope this information helps you plan a magical stay, Nicole. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
