My family & I have decided to spend Christmas in Florida. Are there any special 50th anniversary celebrations that will only be occurring on Christmas Day? Thank you

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by and asking this great question.

I'm excited for you and your family to spend Christmas at the Walt Disney World Resort! My family did this last year, so I have some first-hand experience I'm happy to share with you. The World's Most Magical Celebration offers many things to see and do, but nothing, in particular, that is just for Christmas Day. There might, however, be special menus or menu items offered at select dining locations on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. At this time though, we don't have any specifics about what might be offered for holiday dining.

There is something so magical and wonderful about being at The Most Magical Place on Earth for Christmas with family. My advice is to make this time the most memorable for your family and plan based on what you feel your family will enjoy doing. There are many special ways to celebrate the Holidays. Our family loved having some nice meals planned for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. You can make advanced dining reservations soon! Be sure to set a reminder to do this 60 days before your arrival date.

Another thing my family loved was having downtime in between some of our park days. If your schedule allows for a pool day, I highly recommend it! After all, you will be in Florida, and what better way to spend a vacation day? I even reserved a Cabana to plus up our time at the pool. If you are staying at one of the Disney Resort Collection Hotels that have these, they are available to reserve 60 days before you arrive. There are other Enchanted Extras your family might also enjoy.

One of the things our family loved doing the most was spending time at EPCOT. The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays offers some delicious sips and bites around the World Showcase. The Candlelight Processional is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit by listening to the story of Christmas, which is narrated by a celebrity each night.

I hope this information helps you get excited about spending Christmas at Walt Disney World! If you have more planning questions, we would love to help you at planDisney! Please stop back by real soon!

    Happy Holiday Planning!
    Smiles,
    Lisa
