Hi Moms! Me and my family have 8 days to go until we arrive in Disney World - we are going with another family as well so there will be 4 adults and 4 kids (7-4) in our party. Can anyone help me with a list of things to pack - I just want to be prepared?

    Hi Bridget,

Oh, you must be grinning from ear to ear with excitement for your upcoming trip. I'm glad to hear that you are getting prepared and thinking ahead in packing for your vacation. Here is a list of some things that I never want to forget when packing for a magical Walt Disney World vacation.
    • sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen - You are traveling to the "sunshine" state, after all!
    • hats or sunglasses - These are also handy in keeping that pesky sun off your face and out of your eyes
    • light waterproof jacket/poncho - Although it will be quite warm during the summer, it is also the rainy season, so having something you can easily roll or fold up in a backpack, yet pull out to keep you dry is very handy
    • comfortable footwear and moisture wicking socks - Wear what is most comfortable for you, but just remember that you will be walking A LOT!
    • 1 or 2 plastic garbage bags (folded up) - This may sound silly, but when I ride a water ride, such as Splash Mountain, I pull out the garbage bag and put my backpack and purse in it. Once I'm off the ride, I shake it out and refold and put it back in my purse or backpack. You could also pack a couple of zippered sandwich bags to serve the same purpose for your phones/cameras.
    • variety of snacks - You may prefer to purchase these once you get there, but we always bring individually wrapped snacks with us into the parks each day, as this tends to save my family from spending a bundle on food that isn't a designated meal.
    • hand-held battery operated fan - This is not a must, but they do come in handy when waiting in the queues during a hot steamy day.

I hope this helps! Have a magical time. Your trip will be here before you can say, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
