Ahoy there, Marilyn, and welcome aboard planDisney! Thank you for sailing my way with your question!
While it's never easy to say "SEA ya real soon" to the
Disney Wish - even for an amazing day on
Disney Castaway Cay where you can see it from nearly everywhere - sometimes, you've just got to walk the plank.
Oh, don't worry, it's more of an actual gangway, and is quite nice!
When debarking your ship at Castaway Cay, or for any Port Adventure, there is the possibility that at busier times, the Virtual Queue will be in use. Times vary, so I'd suggest checking your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app as soon as you wake up on your day at Castaway Cay - you should get a notification if it is in use.
Now, in my experience sailing this summer, there has not been a virtual queue to disembark at Castaway Cay, however my family is early to rise and early to debark. If you are hoping to avoid the queue, I'd plan on either being up early like us or otherwise making your morning pulling into port more leisurely with a relaxed breakfast at
Marceline Market! Since the ships tend to "back in" when at Castaway Cay, here's a planDrew-approved tip: try to snag a seat on the starboard side or at the seats outside at the aft of the ship for the best views!
If you DO end up having to join the virtual queue, you'll receive a push notification on your mobile device when it's your turn - plus a "debarkation ticket" to leave the ship! Don't forget, when going ashore, you'll also need your Key to the World Card and a photo ID if you are over 18 years of age!
I hope that queues up a great time for you and your crew on your incredible Bahamian itinerary this Autumn on the Disney Wish! Thank you for your question, Marilyn, and if you have any others as you finish planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Anchors aweigh!
