My family is cruising on the Disney Fantasy in September, just a couple of weeks away, and I was wondering if the recent ban of selfie sticks applies to the cruise line as well. We would love to get some group shots without having to disturb other guest.

    Welcome Aboard, Angela!

It won't be long until you and your family are sailing the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew! I'm sure you're super excited and counting down the days.

At this time, there has not yet been a ban on selfie sticks on Disney Cruise Line. If you want to make sure this is still the case before your sail date, you can call DCL directly at 1-800-951-3532 right before you sail.

There are certain scenarios where I'm sure selfie sticks would not be allowed, such as on the Aqua Duck waterslide. As long as you are using your photo equipment responsibly and not interfering with other guests, it should be fine to use for taking group shots around the ship.

Another way to get some great group shots is to take advantage of the ship's photographers. From character meet-and-greets to family photo shoots, the ship's photographers are always ready to help capture your magical memories - you'll even find them on Castaway Cay! We like to pose for a family photo in the terminal before boarding - you'll usually find Mickey or Minnie all decked out in their nautical best!

Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question - I hope you have a most magical Disney Cruise Line vacation! Please let us know if you have further questions before you go! - Diane W.
