Ahoy, Pauline! Welcome to planDisney and welcome aboard
Disney Cruise Line.
I am so excited for you and your upcoming cruise on the
Disney Wish. Your family is similar in age span to mine. My 16-year-old cannot wait to go to
Palo Steakhouse, and he is counting down for the time he can get a Chocolate Soufflé. Two more years! Two more years, except his brother is three years younger and cannot go to Palo until he is 18. We will have to figure out how the younger brother can have a magical time while we enjoy Palo, or we all wait until we all go as a family. There are no exceptions to the age requirements.
I know this is probably not the news you wanted you hear. My family, too, will have to figure out how we manage expectations and be kind to everyone.
For your 18-year-old teen, be sure to check out activities on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the 1820 Society. While your 16-year-old has access to the teen-exclusive
Vibe club, the 1820 Society is where the young adults meet and enjoy activities on the ship together.
There is so much available on the ship that is perfect for your whole family to enjoy. With my kids now older, we choose second seating for dinner. Later dining time feels less rushed as we are not trying to finish eating before heading to a show. We have also found that the early dining time is a perfect opportunity to ride the water slides, like the
AquaMouse, with shorter lines. We usually ride once or twice before heading to the stateroom to get ready for dinner. And my kids recently discovered Bingo. Who knew this game could be so much fun? There is a cost to play, but with the entertaining Cast Members, the chants during the game and the Disney music between number calls, we enjoy it as a family.
Your adventure at sea is quickly approaching! Please sail back by
planDisney with any other questions as you plan for your time aboard the most magical ship at sea. We're here for you.
SEA 'ya real soon!
