My family has been considering staying at the Contemporary Resort, but there are concerns about the monorail in the building. Does the noise from the monorail impact or disrupt the guest rooms?

Having the monorail in the resort at the Contemporary is a huge plus.  It makes getting around so quick and easy.  The last time we stayed, we were two floors directly above the monorail.  The whole family thought it was neat that you could look over and waive at the folks working beneath.  I could barely hear the monorail myself.  The room had to be completely quite and I had to be listening  for it.

If you are sensitive to noise, by all means, make mention to it when you check it.  There are a good deal of tower rooms in the Contemporary.  The castmembers working at the front desk will try their best to get you a room farther away from the monorail.

We were concerned about a long walk to the elevator, since we were traveling with a toddler at the time.  There were wonderful about meeting our needs.

My experience has always been, just ask.  It seems as though most people at Disney World want your vacation to be as wonderful as possible.  If they can help you out with a responsible request, they will.

    Have a magical vacation
