I have family coming to the parks on different room reservations. We would like to do dinner together. A couple of rooms want the dining plan. Some do not. Does everyone dining in the restaurant reservation/same table have to be on the dining plan:?

    Hi Donna!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I enjoy using the Disney Dining Plan every time I visit Walt Disney World Resort, as it offers such great value at the four theme parks, water parks, Disney Resort hotels and at select locations at Disney Springs.  With three different Disney Dining Plans available (Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan and Disney Deluxe Dining Plan) there is something to suit everybody and every budget.  While everyone on the same Disney Resort hotel reservation must have the same dining plan, dining reservations are different.  You can make a dining reservation and sit at the same table with friends or family who do not share the same dining plan as yourself, or indeed have no dining plan at all.  Even if you have a Disney Dining Plan, you do not have to use it at every meal.  When your server greets you at your table they will ask if you have a dining plan, or any discounts.  You can simply tell them which guests will be paying by which method.  You can all be paying by different methods if you want to, and have a separate check for each Guest, or you can pay by family, or however you choose.  So you can use your dining plan credits, and your other family members can pay by MagicBand or credit card or cash etc.

Table-Service dining reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance, online, by using your My Disney Experience account or by calling (407) 939 3463.   When making your reservation you do not have to give details of how you wish to pay, so that can be decided on the day of dining.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.
